If you’re in the mood for a whiskey-soaked, classic country heartbreak song, Trisha Yearwood’s got one for you.
The two-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year has just released the opening track from her new Every Girl album, which comes out August 30. “Workin’ on Whiskey” features harmony vocals from Trisha’s pal Kelly Clarkson.
The two have become frequent collaborators in the past few years. Kelly was also on Trisha’s 2014 single, “PrizeFighter,” and they’ve twice teamed up with Reba McEntire as a trio: first on “Silent Night” on Reba’s My Kind of Christmas album, and then on “Softly and Tenderly” from her 2017 Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope record.
“Workin’ on Whiskey” is available to stream or download now, and you can also check out Trisha performing the song live on Spotify’s Hot Country playlist.
Meanwhile, Trisha’s latest hit, “Every Girl in This Town,” is currently climbing the chart.
